Change
is inspiring because the challenge exists to offer appropriate
Professional Development to members to make things better.
By: Erika Deines
We
have recently signed a
partnership agreement
with Red Deer College to offer Certificate in Conflict Leadership core
courses as well as the Conflict Management for HR Professionals
40-hour program and the Certificate in Consensus Decision Making
program in Red Deer. This is an exciting step towards the new
strategic direction the Board of Directors have taken, namely our core
curriculum to become approved for academic credits in undergraduate
and graduate programs.
As another ‘school year’ draws to a close we are extremely pleased to
note that
learner enrolment
was up from last year, particularly the enrolment in Calgary has
increased considerably. In addition, the following members have
completed their Certificate in Conflict Leadership in 2012/13: Tammy
Boroweicki, Heather Holubowich, Leanne Leverick, Ryan McDougall,
Lorraine Nordstrom, Breanne Yaremko, Michael Hanlon, Monica Kreiner,
Dawna Youngstrom, Ruby Kratchmer, Jill Swann-Lussier, Jasmine French,
Yves Lavallee and Anita Veldhusen-Slomp.
Certificates in Arbitration have been awarded to Ivan Docker, Linda
Long, Terry Prockiw, Cassie Williams, Cindy Vizzutti, Dereck Jones and
Andy Banack. More learners are in their final stages of completion.
Congratulations to all who have successfully completed these
Certificates!
Practice Sessions
for learners in our programs are now running in both cities, Calgary
and Edmonton. We thank our volunteer coordinator in Calgary, Dana
Zlenko, for helping get the sessions off the ground. Participation is
limited to 8 learners who must pre-register their attendance on the
ADRIA website
http://www.adralberta.com/edu-aams-course-calendars-parentschildren.asp?ID=77.
Coaches will be comprised of ADRIA’s Certificate program instructors
and coaches. Practice sessions may be used to complete practice
requirements for any of the three core programs (Attuned
Communication, Integrative Negotiation and Facilitative Mediation) as
may be recommended by an instructor with approval by the Education
Department.
Please note: The practice sessions are not designed to
substitute for evaluations required for the Q.Med. designation
application.
