ADRIA’s Calgary classes
are moving! Due to the increasing number of learners in some of our
classes, we needed more space and we have found a great location.
Starting this month our classes are at the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB)
at 300 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 8K4. Our classes will be on
the third floor and our contact there is Donna Stratton, CREB
Development Coordinator, Education & Membership Records and she can be
reached at 403.781.5447. Hope to see you there!
ADRIA has some upcoming specialty / professional development courses
in the next few months that might be of interest.
The Certificate in Consensus Decision Making (CDM)
program starts in February in both Calgary and Edmonton. CDM is
used to address a variety of issues such as public policy issues, land
use and environmental disputes, multilateral international peace
negotiations and business mergers. Consensus agreements have been
found to be more sustainable and long-lasting because they have been
developed by those with a direct stake in the problem and by those
that bear a responsibility for the implantation of the solutions.
See attachment for more
information.
The Court and Community Mediation course is
going to be offered in Calgary in March
and May in Edmonton. This course is designed to provide an
understanding about the various mediation rosters which exist
connected to the court system and administered by Alberta Justice, as
well as provide information about some of the community-based
organizations in Alberta. This information will be of particular
interest to those who are newly qualified or about to complete their
training as mediators and are wishing to explore potential
opportunities for the future, and for those who have some experience
and may be considering how to expand their current practice. Please
see attachment for more information.
We
will be offering at least several more specialty / professional
development courses in the spring/summer term:
Restorative Practices
How to establish and grow an ADR business
Conflict Coaching
Please remember that taking courses can be used for points in
maintaining professional certifications as well as for expanding
your skills and services.
Finally, watch for our upcoming MTI Train-the-Trainer
five day course! If you are interested in taking this course please
contact Josie Cale and add your name to our list. We are in the
process of scheduling a Train-the-Trainer for this spring.
